Dr Lona Brown

Lona Brown

Dr Lona Brown (she/her) is a General Practitioner and Medical Educator. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Lona uses her experience and strong focus in sexual and reproductive health to coordinate the IUD, Women’s Reproductive and Sexual Health and Contraception courses. Her dedication to teaching health professionals includes one-on-one training and group courses, all aimed at enhancing community services.

Sarah Harwood

Sarah Harwood

Sarah Harwood (she/her) is a Senior Nurse Educator pursuing her goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. She has a Graduate Certificate in Digital Learning and Teaching. Sarah employs a collaborative teaching approach, that places learners' needs at the heart of effective teaching. Sarah leads the Cervical Screening course and provides clinical supervision in our clinic, helping participants enhance their knowledge and skills.

Larissa Hudson

Larissa Hudson

Larissa Hudson (she/her) is a Senior Nurse Educator and experienced Sexual and Reproductive Health nurse in our clinic. With over 14 years of experience in sexual and reproductive healthcare across the United Kingdom and Australia, Larissa advocates for the fundamental right to positive sexual health experiences, considering them essential to our identity and well-being. Her passion lies in engaging with diverse communities and providing abortion care, topics she passionately discusses in her courses. Larissa leads the Comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health (Nursing) and Early Medical Abortion Care (Unplanned Pregnancy) courses.

Maddy McDonough

Maddy Mc Donough

Maddy McDonough (she/her) is a Nurse Educator, Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse, and passionate Midwife dedicated to empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their reproductive and sexual health. Maddy leads the Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health Course. Currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Sexual Health, Maddy focuses on sexual health promotion and community public health, including adolescent sexuality.

Dr Suzanne Pearson

Suzanne Pearson

Dr Suzanne Pearson (she/her) is a General Practitioner and Senior Medical Educator who brings her enthusiasm for education and training to health professionals. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching. Suzanne coordinates the Family Planning Alliance Australia's National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health for Doctors course and Implanon NXT training. Suzanne has authored articles, such as "LARC: New evidence to guide clinical practice," published in the RACGP's Australian Journal of General Practice.

Dr Kate Robertson

Dr. Kate Robertson (she/her) is a General Practitioner and Medical Educator. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has a Diploma in Child Health and a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Kate has worked in various rural and metropolitan healthcare settings. She uses this experience to help tailor learning to participant's needs, with the overall aim of helping people to receive equitable sexual and reproductive healthcare throughout Australia.

​Dr Fiona Shepherd

Dr Fiona Shepherd (she/her) is a General practitioner and Medical Educator. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is currently pursuing further studies in Clinical Supervision. She has worked in sexual and reproductive healthcare settings in both Melbourne and Adelaide. She is passionate about breaking down stigma and ensuring that sexual and reproductive health care is patient-focused. She enjoys the opportunity and privilege of clinical teaching to help build clinicians’ knowledge, skills and confidence.

Dr Sara Whitburn

Dr Sara Whitburn (she/her) is the Medical Director of SHV. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice, has Diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Family Planning and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching. Sara specialises in sexually transmitted infections, genital health and menopause. She is ASHM certified in Advanced Gender Affirming Hormone Health. Sara is excited about enabling healthcare professionals to deliver great sexual and reproductive healthcare.
