Terms & Conditions for Individual Registrations


All applications will be acknowledged via e-mail as soon as they are received and processed in accordance with SHV guidelines.

Registration must be accompanied by full payment. An applicant’s place in a course is not confirmed until SHV has received full payment of course fees.

Changes to registration

All requests for changes to registration must be in writing to [email protected]. SHV will consider and respond to requests only on receipt of email.


All refund requests are conditional on the following:

a) The funds for the refund must be available (credit card payments received, cheques cleared).

b) Any debts to SHV must be paid in full or the outstanding amounts will be deducted from the refund.

Refunds following student cancellation of registration

The amount of refund is based on the length of notice provided in relation to the training commencement date*.

  • If more than 28 days notification is provided, 90% of the invoiced amount will be refunded.
  • If notification is provided within 8 to 28 days, 50% of the invoiced amount will be refunded.
  • If notification is provided within 7 days, no refund will be issued.

* For those completing online training, commencement of training begins when a link to the online learning platform is sent. This may be up to four weeks before face-to-face training.

Refunds following non-attendance on the day of training or clinical placements

Non-attendance on the day will result in all paid fees being forfeited. No refund will be given for training participants who fail to attend for training for which they were enrolled. Participants who fail to attend clinical placements may be required to pay additional fees for any subsequent clinical time needed to meet training requirements. Refer to relevant training administrator for additional fee structure.

Transfer to other training

Transfer of enrolment to alternative SHV training may be considered prior to training commencement. The application should be made in writing to [email protected]. Additional fees may apply, to meet the full fees of alternative training.

Exceptional circumstances

An application for a refund or transfer to other training will be considered in the case of exceptional circumstances. Any request for special consideration must be made in writing to [email protected] and addressed to the General Manager, Education & Training.

Cancellation, postponement or re-scheduling of training

SHV reserves the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule training due to low enrolments or unforeseen circumstances. SHV will provide a full refund of paid fees to the training participant within 30 days. In the case of SHV cancelling training, enrolled participants may elect to defer enrolment to equivalent training within 6 months. This will not incur additional fees. Those wishing to defer to alternative training may incur additional fees to meet the full fees of alternative training.

SHV reserves the right to change training fees, dates, content or facilitators at its discretion. Once booked and paid, participants will not be subjected to a higher fee.

SHV will not be liable for any costs incurred in relation to accommodation and travel.


SHV is committed to ongoing monitoring and evaluation. At the conclusion of each course, you will be asked to complete an evaluation form. All feedback is valued and used to improve our services.


SHV is committed to our obligations under the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988. All information is stored securely, and we do not share information without consent except where there is a legislative requirement to do so.
